He is an Indian boxing superstar who hails from the Bhiwani district of Haryana, which is home to most famous boxers. Krishan Kumar Yadav is his father. His father's name is Krishan Kumar Yadav. In the year 2015, the Boxing Federation of India was banned, and Vikas participated under the AIBA banner in the World and Asian Championships. Vikas Krishan Yadav is the second Indian boxer, after Olympian Vijender Singh, to compete for the Olympics for a third time.
Vikas Krishan Yadav took a year break from boxing to complete his schooling at Kurukshetra University and his training with the Haryana State Polic. In the haryana police Vikas Krishan Yadav is a DSP. Vikas Krishan Yadav bagged a gold medal at the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships, which were held in Tehran, Iran, in the year 2010.
After beating Lithuania's Evaldas Petrauskas in the Lightweight division at the 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Baku, he was awarded a gold medal in the division. After being defeated by Evaldas Petrauskas of Lithuania in the semifinals of the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in the Lightweight division, he took home a bronze medal in the competition.
After defeating Hu Qing of China 5-4 in the finals of the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, he was awarded the gold medal.
