He is known for playing collegiate basketball for Siena College before he played professionally in Hungary and Israel. Marquis Jurell Wright went to North Point High School in Waldorf, Maryland , where he posted 16.6 points, 6.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.9 steals per game as a senior, helping the Eagles to a 24–3 record and a trip to the state semifinals.
