Charley Pride is a professional baseball player was also a singer, guitarist, and musician from America. RCA Records' greatest period of success occurred between the early and mid-1970s, during which he was the company's best-selling performer after Elvis Presley. When he was at the best of his music career from 1966 to 1987, he scored 52 top-10 successes on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, with 30 of them reaching number one. When the Country Music Association Awards were held in 1971, he achieved the Entertainer of the Year. Charley Pride has three African-American members, the Grand Ole Opry the others being DeFord Bailey and Darius Rucker. The vocalist of this song was identified as "Country Charley Pride" on the recordings of the song that were submitted to radio stations for broadcast. In Montana, he performed in local bars, and in Great Falls, he was given hope to his career when he met local businessman Louis Allen "Al" Donohue, who operated radio stations, including KMON, which was one of the first stations in Montana to broadcast Pride's records. In recognition of his contributions to country music, the CMA announced that Pride will win the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 54th Country Music Association Awards in 2020. Few performers have contributed as much to the development of country music's rich history and the growth of country music around the world as Charley. It is his particular voice that has left a lasting legacy that continues to reverberate across the country community even now. We are overjoyed to be able to present Charley with one of the CMA's greatest honours. On May 1, 1993, Pride was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry as a member. It was on May 4 and 5 that he performed at the Opry House to commemorate his 25th anniversary as a member of the organisation.
